Apply for a street party permit

If you’re planning a street party and wish to close a residential road for less than ten hours, you’ll need a street party permit.

To get a street party permit you must submit the following information via email to traffic.permits@mississauga.ca, four weeks before the event:

  • A cover letter with a contact name, address and phone number
  • The date of event, including the start and finish time
  • A petition of support signed by at least 80% of residents who live within the closure area

Once we’ve received and approved your information, we’ll email you a confirmation letter telling you what to do next, which includes:

  • Purchasing liability insurance through the City
  • Signing a Road Occupancy Permit and General Terms and Conditions form which we’ll send you
  • Collecting your free road closure barricades
