Change a screening appointment

Screening and hearing appointments scheduled between April 6 through to and including May 29, 2020 are being adjourned. Your attendance at your appointment is not required at this time. A new screening or hearing appointment will be sent to you by mail, to the address on file with the office.

You can change a screening appointment to review your by-law violation ticket in person only at the Ontario Court of Justice.

If you reschedule your appointment you’ll not be able to view your new appointment date online.

You can still pay your ticket up until the date and time of your screening appointment. Once paid your screening appointment will be cancelled.

Failure to attend a screening appointment

If you fail to attend a screening appointment you’ll have to pay your ticket fine and also the following fees:

  • Non-appearance fee – $50.00
  • Late payment fee – $25.00

If these fees are not paid your information will be sent to a collections agency and you may lose your business or mobile business licence.

Speak to a Hearing Officer

If you’re not satisfied with the decision of the Screening Officer you may request a further review by a Hearing Officer. You have 15 days from the date of your screening decision to make this request.

The decision of the Hearing Officer is final.
