Each year, the Culture Projects Grant focuses on current, community-based themes.
The Culture Projects Grant’s focus for 2023 continues our theme from 2022 (Unifying Arts for Social Justice). The City will consider project grant applications that focus on anti-racism, anti-hate efforts, and community building in Mississauga. This includes projects that emphasize Indigenous worldviews, creative and artistic methods, and presentation practices.
The goal of this theme is to:
- Provide funding that engages the arts community
- Create works to increase awareness, promote education, and take action to affect positive change
The City encourages arts and culture organizations to animate different areas of Mississauga and provide safe environments for people to experience art. Examples of this include intimate events, temporary public art, exhibitions or performances.
Who can apply
You may be eligible to apply if:
- Your organization operates on a not-for-profit basis and is governed by volunteers or a collective with a legal entity
- Your projects take place in Mississauga
Through this program, organizations can apply for up to 50% of their total project budget or $5,000, whichever is less. For more information about eligibility and project types, review the Program Guidelines (PDF).
