Culture Projects Grant

Each year, the Culture Projects Grant focuses on current, community-based themes.

2027 theme

Themed “Youth in Culture”, the Culture Projects Grant Program provides funding to organizations, collectives and BIAs that will deliver a culturally responsive arts and culture project for youth. The grant prioritizes youth-led projects that create small-scale cultural experiences for youth that reflect the unique interests and lived experiences of these groups.

Projects must be arts-based and provide a clear description of the youth audience they aim to engage. Examples of projects relevant to the theme include, but aren’t limited to:

• Indigenous-led youth arts initiatives that support cultural knowledge-sharing, storytelling, and artistic practices
• Multilingual or culturally specific arts programming that increases inclusion and engagement among underrepresented youth
• Accessible arts initiatives designed by and for youth with disabilities, incorporating adaptive or sensory-friendly approaches
• Skill-building projects in areas such as film, digital arts, music production, or design, culminating in a small showcase or presentation

Who can apply

You may be eligible to apply if:

• Your organization operates on a not-for-profit basis and is governed by volunteers or a collective with a legal entity
• Your projects take place in Mississauga

Through this program, organizations can apply for up to 50% of their total project budget or $5,000, whichever is less.

The 2027 Culture Projects Grant program opens August 24, 2026. Applications must be submitted by October 9, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
