The City has conducted an annual employment survey since 2001. We ask business owners, administrators and organizational leaders across Mississauga to participate by providing key business information.
The information collected tells the City about growth, trends and changes. It helps us support the business community, shape economic strategies, guide policy, and inform infrastructure and service planning. We do this to ensure Mississauga remains a place where businesses succeed.
The survey is mostly conducted during in-person site visits between May and August. Post-secondary student surveyors hired by the City visit businesses across Mississauga. Businesses may also be contacted by phone or email to complete the survey.
The 2025 survey is now open online.
The directory includes almost 14,000 businesses that provide consent to have their information listed publicly when taking the survey.
It lists businesses from a wide range of economic sectors, including retail, services, health care, manufacturing, accommodation, professional services, real estate and more.
