The strategy will present a new vision for continued economic growth in Mississauga. It will set goals for the short, medium and long term, and key performance indicators to measure success.
Key priorities
The strategy will advance priorities and actions in the following areas:
- Investment attraction and local sector development
- Innovation, entrepreneurship and small business
- Talent attraction, retention and development
- Strategic growth opportunities
The new strategy will replace the existing Economic Development Strategy 2020-2025 which was approved by Council, December 11, 2019.
Public engagement
In April 2025, the City conducted a survey to seek input from local businesses to help shape its approach to economic growth and support for local businesses. The feedback will help identify opportunities, challenges, and priorities for the new strategy that can strengthen the City’s business environment, workforce, infrastructure, and overall economic competitiveness.
