If you’re using a PRESTO card, your transfer expires two hours after you first tap on the bus. Tap your card each time you board a bus. The transfer will be automatically issued to your PRESTO card.
If you’re paying your bus fare in cash, you can get a paper transfer. Paper transfers expire two hours after the bus starts its route.
Show your transfer to the operator each time you board a bus. If you lose your transfer, it will not be reissued.
Transferring to other cities
You can connect to other transit systems including Brampton, Oakville, Toronto, Burlington, Hamilton and York Region.
If you’re travelling with MiWay in Etobicoke, Brampton or Oakville, you must wave to alert the operator that you’re waiting. You should wave early enough to allow the operator time to come to a safe stop.
If there’s time remaining on your MiWay transfer, you can use it on Brampton Transit or Züm, Brampton’s Bus Rapid Transit Service.
Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)
You can only board a MiWay bus in Toronto when it’s destination is in Mississauga and it is at a designated MiWay bus stop.
If you’re transferring between MiWay buses in Toronto, you’ll need a transfer. When you board the connecting bus, show the Transit Operator your transfer and tell them you’re exiting in Toronto. When you get off the bus, give your transfer to the Operator and exit through the front doors.
If there’s time remaining on your MiWay transfer, you can use it on Oakville Transit.
Burlington Transit, Hamilton Street Railway and York Region Transit
If there’s time remaining on your MiWay transfer, you can use it on Burlington Transit, Hamilton Street Railway (HSR), York Region Transit (YRT) at any location.
