Presto CardThe easiest way to pay your fare on MiWay is with a PRESTO card. Your PRESTO card works in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and Ottawa area.

Buy a physical PRESTO card

You can buy a physical PRESTO card for $4 from a Customer Service Outlet located at:

  • City Centre Transit Terminal
  • Select Shoppers Drug Mart locations
  • GO Transit stations and terminals
  • TTC subway stations
  • Mississauga Community Centres

Get a digital PRESTO card in Google Wallet

Customers can pay a fare on MiWay by tapping a digital version of a PRESTO card in their Google Wallet using their Android smartphone or Wear OS smartwatch. There are two ways a customer can get a PRESTO card in their Google Wallet.

Metrolinx is working to add support for other mobile wallet platforms in the future.

Set your fare type

You can set the fare type on your PRESTO card to Child (ages 6 to 12), Youth (ages 13 to 19) or Senior (ages 65 and older) by visiting a Customer Service Outlet and showing proof of age.

PRESTO cards that are not set up with a specific fare type will be charged the Adult PRESTO single fare.

Load your PRESTO card

You can load your PRESTO card online through the PRESTO website, the PRESTO app or in person at a Customer Service Outlet.

You can load a MiWay monthly pass onto your PRESTO card or load funds to your PRESTO card to pay your fare. When you load your PRESTO card online, it may take up to 24 hours to show up on your account. The PRESTO app offers instant loads.

PRESTO Monthly Passes are available 14 days before and after the start of a month and are valid for unlimited travel on MiWay during a calendar month.

Download the official PRESTO app to load funds instantly and manage your card anytime, anywhere. You can download the PRESTO app on Android or iOS. Log in with your existing My PRESTO Account or your card number to get started.

Use either a debit or credit card to add ePurse funds instantly to your PRESTO card. You can also check your card balance and transaction history.

Register your PRESTO card

You can register your PRESTO card to get balance recovery, an overdraft trip, autoload funds or auto renew your monthly pass. To register your card, add it to your PRESTO account.

You can also register your PRESTO card by calling PRESTO Customer Service at 1-877-378-6123.

Using PRESTO on the bus

Tap your card (physical card or digital card in Google Wallet) on the PRESTO card reader when you board the bus. Your transfer is active for two hours from when you first tap your card. The devices are designed to process one card at a time, so make sure you’re tapping only your PRESTO card against the reader.
