Novel Coronavirus update

Following the guidance from Peel Public Health and in an abundance of caution for both our residents and staff, the City of Mississauga has decided to cancel all programs and close all public facilities, including libraries, starting on Saturday, March 14 through until further notice. All materials have been renewed until July 31.

Drop boxes are open at all locations (except Mississauga Valley Library) to return items. Curbside pickup is available by appointment only at select locations. You can book an appointment for curbside once you receive a notification that your hold(s) are available.

During the closure, the library’s online resources will be available to Mississauga residents on our website This includes our collection of digital materials such as eBooks, magazines, downloadable audiobooks and streaming movies, music and television shows, as well as research tools for online learning. If you do not have a Mississauga library card, you can sign up for our virtual card and get instant access to our online collections and resources.

All physical library materials due dates and hold expiration dates will be extended and there will be no additional fines on your account. Refunds for March Break program tickets will be available upon reopening.

We value our customers and look forward to continuing to evolve our available services. We are developing protocols and will offer new services when it is safe to do so and in alignment with the recommendation of the Peel Medical Officer of Health. The safety of our customers and our employees is our top priority. Follow us on social media for the latest updates.

For more information on the current situation, please visit the Region of Peel’s Public Health information page about COVID-19 – If you have library related questions, you can email us at or call 905-615-3500.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this difficult time. We are all working together to ensure the well-being of our residents and staff and to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
