Following the guidance from Peel Public Health and in an abundance of caution for both our residents and staff, the City of Mississauga has decided to cancel all programs and close all public facilities, including libraries, starting on Saturday, March 14 through until further notice.
During the closure, the library’s online resources will be available to Mississauga residents on our website mississaugalibrary.ca. This includes our collection of digital materials such as eBooks, magazines, downloadable audiobooks and streaming movies, music and television shows, as well as research tools for online learning. If you do not have a Mississauga Library card, you can sign up for our Virtual Card and get instant access to our online collections and resources.
All physical library materials due dates and hold expiration dates will be extended and there will be no additional fines on your account. Refunds for March Break program tickets will be available upon reopening.
Bookdrops at all libraries will be closed effective March 18 at 5:00 pm. Please hold all book returns. All items currently signed out have had their due date extended and no new fines will accrue on library accounts.
For more information on the current situation, please visit the Region of Peel’s Public Health information page about COVID-19 – peelregion.ca/coronavirus. If you have library related questions, you can email us at email@example.com or call 905-615-3500.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this difficult time. We are all working together to ensure the well-being of our residents and staff and to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Director, Mississauga Library
