Donating books and materials
Select library locations are currently accepting donations.
Donated materials are given to the Mississauga Friends of the Library book sales. All book sale proceeds go directly to the Mississauga Library. Please contact your library location before bringing in donations.
Location accepting donations, welcome:
- Books in English or French, published in the last 10 years
- DVDs, Blu-rays and CDs
We do not accept:
- Magazines
- Encyclopedias
- Text books
- Computer books
Please ensure that donated items are free of mildew, mould, dust, dirt, water damage, spine damage, highlighting, hand written notes and are not missing pages or covers. Materials in poor condition should be recycled or disposed of.
If you would like to donate items of local history importance or are a local author looking to have your item added to the collection, please email support.library@mississauga.ca.
All donated items immediately become the property of the library.
Donating money
You can make a financial donation online or in person (for amounts under $1,000) at any library location during open hours. Cash and cheque donations are only accepted at Hazel McCallion Central Library.
If you’d like to make a larger donation, an in-celebration or in-memoriam donation, or have questions, please email support.library@mississauga.ca.
For amounts over $20, tax receipts are prepared and distributed by the City of Mississauga on a monthly basis.
