With the Toronto Raptors currently vying for the Eastern Conference championship and looking to win it all, basketball is definitely a trendy sport right now, but if that’s not your style, there are many more sports to try right here in Mississauga.

If you are feeling a bit housebound due to the cool, wet spring we have been experiencing in good old “Sauga”, consider mixing things up and trying a new sport like archery, badminton, cricket, dodgeball or Jiu Jitsu. You never know what you may fall in love with unless you give a new sport a try. Visit activemississauga.ca for listings of available sports throughout the city.

If you have always wanted to try a team sport or simply have been out of the team sports scene for a while, check out our league sports at Mississauga Sports Leagues. These leagues play at various community centres, including the Paramount Fine Foods Centre and Iceland Arena. You can register as an individual or a team for soccer or hockey. Visit Mississauga Sports Leagues to learn more.

If you are looking for a sport or activity that is a little different or off the beaten track, Mississauga has many local community sport groups. If you love the water you can check out canoeing, kayaking, dragon boating or rowing. Or, if you are a land lover try sledge hockey, pickleball or lacrosse. Learn more by checking out our community sporting partners by visiting saugasports.org.
