Kicking off 2020 with an Upgraded City Centre Transit Terminal

City services | January 20, 2020

In February, the City Centre Transit Terminal (CCTT) will undergo a complete interior infrastructure renovation to transform the City’s busiest facility into a modernized space with improved accessibility and services for MiWay customers. The project is expected to be completed by fall 2021.

“Exciting things are underway this year. The CCTT was built in 1996 and is a 23-year-old facility. It is located in downtown Mississauga with more than 45,000 commuters accessing it every day. The building requires upgrades to meet the growing needs of our community,” said Geoff Marinoff, Director, Transit. “This facility is an important part of the customer experience for many MiWay riders. Every effort will be made to ensure disruption is minimal and that fare and customer information services will continue to be provided onsite.”

During the renovations, the CCTT will remain accessible to the community with some areas temporarily out of service. It is anticipated that the elevator will be temporarily out of service from April until July 2020. Customers are encouraged to look for directional signage indicating access points. Customer service for the information booth and fare booths will be relocated, but will remain onsite throughout construction to serve commuters.
