A+ Reading Week Spots to Help you get that A+

City services | February 13, 2020

As reading week approaches, students across Mississauga will be seeking out the best study spots to read, participate in group study and of course, enjoy some time outside of the classroom.

Here are some great study spots in Mississauga:

Library – several locations

Pack up your books, leave the distractions at home and head to the library! Mississauga’s libraries have lots of spaces for quiet, not so quiet, individual and group study.  Availability varies based on location. You can book a study room in person or by calling your local library. Free Wi-Fi is available at all libraries.

Small Arms Inspection Building – 1352 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga

Looking for a unique space to stimulate your creative thinking? The Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB) is a historic, multi-purpose building that is perfect for studying and study groups. SAIB is open to the public and creative community to gather, drop-in and meet. The shared space is free, has free Wi-Fi and is available on a first-come, first-served basis from Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check online for exception dates or closures. The venue has free onsite parking and is accessible by the MiWay Lakeshore #23 bus.

C Cafe  – 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga

If you’re an early bird and study best with some background noise and opportunities for active breaks – get your early morning studying in at C Cafe inside the Civic Centre. Access to great food and fresh coffee is a bonus!  Pack your skates and take advantage of the ice rink right outside on Celebration Square when you’re ready to take a study break! The cafe is open on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Wherever you choose to study, the most important thing to do is be productive. When you make the most of your study time, you free up time for other activities. Happy reading week!
