We’re taking steps to reopen Mississauga safely with support from Peel Public Health and government partners.

 

 

 

What’s open and closed

With guidance from Peel Public Health and government agencies we are starting to reopen City facilities and amenities. Some facilities will stay closed to the public until further notice to help slow the spread.

Opening soon

  • July 13: Soccer fields (permitted use)

Open now

  • Food trucks
  • Celebration Square outdoor fountain and Lions Farmers Market
  • Outdoor pools (pre-registration required)
  • Iceland Arena (specific use)
  • These park amenities:
    • Baseball diamonds, basketball courts, beach volleyball courts, bocce courts and BMX / skate parks, spray pads (with the exception of Frank McKechnie)
    • Benches, shelters, structures, seasonal washrooms and leash-free zones (Union Park and Community Common remain closed)
    • Multi-use sports fields
    • Artificial turf fields and cricket fields
    • Parking lots
    • Picnic areas and photography permits in parks
  • Community tennis clubs and public tennis courts
  • City Centre Transit Terminal open for:
    • Transit fare purchase and customer service support
  • Mississauga Library:
    • Curbside pickup is available for holds at select locations across the city
    • Drop boxes are open at all locations (except Mississauga Valley Library)
  • Marina and Lakefront Promenade public boat launches
  • Track facilities at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, Courtneypark Athletic Fields and Loyola Catholic Secondary School
  • Golf courses at BraeBen and Lakeview:
  • All nine community gardens are open only to registered garden members:
    • Garden of the Valley, Hillside Community Garden, Malton Community Garden, Parkway Green Generation Garden, Forest Glen Community Garden, Hancock Community Garden, Churchill Meadows Community Garden, Small Arms Community Garden and Iceland Teaching Garden
  • Fireworks are now permitted only on Victoria Day, Canada Day, Chinese New Year and Diwali

  • All public counters
  • Arenas (including Vic Johnston Arena)
  • Banquet halls (C Banquets and Harding Waterfront Estate)
  • City Hall
  • Community centres (impacts on memberships and programs)
  • Film Office
  • Fitness centres
  • Indoor pools
  • Libraries (online resources and curbside pickup are available)
  • Living Arts Centre
  • Meadowvale Theatre
  • Mississauga Provincial Offences Courthouse
  • Mississauga Seniors’ Centre
  • Museums (Benares and Bradley)
  • Paramount Fine Foods Centre
  • Some park facilities such as playgrounds (parks and trails remain open)
  • Small Arms Inspection Building

Regional facilities

The Region of Peel has also announced closures or restrictions for accessing regional buildings.
